OPPO Reno12 — My Honest Review

I spent a week using the OPPO Reno12, and I am quite impressed. OPPO truly delivered with this phone. It looks great, works smoothly, and performs well for a mid-range phone. Here’s what I experienced!

Design & Feel

The moment I opened the box, I noticed the phone felt high-quality. It's slim and lightweight, yet sturdy. I had the Silver Purple model, which looks fantastic in the light, giving it a more luxurious appearance than expected for the price.

The curved-edge display adds a touch of elegance, and it's comfortable to hold for long periods. The phone is also water and dust resistant (IP65), which reassures me when it’s raining lightly.

Screen Quality

The 6.7-inch AMOLED screen is impressive for its cost. The 120Hz refresh rate makes everything feel very smooth. Watching Netflix and YouTube in high resolution is a pleasure — the colors are vivid, and it handles bright outdoor light well.

For anyone who enjoys social media or watching videos, this screen is fantastic.

Performance

The phone has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip with 12GB RAM, plus extra virtual RAM. It handled all my needs — from social media to photo editing and casual gaming like PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile.

It's not as fast as top-tier phones, but for day-to-day tasks and light gaming, I didn’t experience issues like lag or overheating.

Camera Features

The camera was a highlight. The 50MP main camera with OIS takes sharp, colorful photos during the day. The image detail is clear, and it captures a good range of light and dark. I was pleasantly surprised by the night mode — it produced clear low-light shots.

The 32MP front camera is great for selfies and video chats. Skin tones look natural, whether I’m taking selfies or portraits.

Battery Performance

The 5000mAh battery comfortably lasted a whole day with social media, YouTube, gaming, and calls. When I needed to recharge, the 67W SUPERVOOC fast charging got me from about 10% to 80% in a little over half an hour — very convenient when you’re in a hurry!

Additional Features

- Ready for 5G, which makes browsing and streaming fast.

- ColorOS 14 is smooth, can be customized, and has many useful features without feeling cluttered.

- The in-display fingerprint scanner is quick and reliable.

- AI-enhanced photo editing tools help with easy sharing on social media.

Positives:

- Stylish, premium design

- Smooth 120Hz AMOLED screen

- Reliable everyday performance

- Excellent camera for its price, especially in daylight

- Super-fast 67W charging

- Long-lasting battery

Negatives:

- Not suitable for heavy gaming — struggles with high settings in demanding games

- Low-light video performance is not as good as photos

- No wireless charging, which is common at this price but still disappointing

Final Thoughts

After using the OPPO Reno12, I believe it gives a lot of value for its cost. If you’re after a sleek, modern phone with a stunning screen, reliable camera, and fast charging, it's worth considering. It’s not made for serious gamers or high-end users, but for everyday use, it works well and looks good while doing it.
